Dennis K Advocates for an Even Playing Field
in the 2008 Primaries

Dennis K

As an undecided voter, I have been thinking a lot lately about how the public might change the primary system to make it fairer. In a world where Hillary and Rudy seem like foregone conclusion, it might be nice if the rule-makers didn’t stack the deck in their favor. Here are a few neutral suggestions designed to even out the playing field.

1.      Only people with the initials D.K. can run for president

2.      You must be this short to run for office

3.      100 convention delegates offered to the candidate with the hottest wife

4.      Candidates get equal time in debates (I know it’s crazy)

5.      Candidates who look like a goblin not automatically ruled out

6.      Candidates with ideas/consistent track record not automatically ruled out

7.      Inability to weasel out of anything considered a virtue

8.      Come on people … let’s make some space for the white men to be president

9.      Allow media to anoint its chosen candidates; it’s much more convenient than holding pesky elections

10.  Seriously, vote for me, I’m about to lose my shit here
